Shohei Yamazaki, senior vice president of Nissan, chairman of the Management Committee for China and president of Dongfeng Motor Ltd. (DFL), said company sales continue to be impacted by prolonged headwinds, including the intensified pandemic situation in key Chinese cities, but he was encouraged to see sales recovery in December as the pandemic situation continued to improve.

“Despite the severe situation, together with our partners, we continued to deliver quality products and services to customers as we achieved 1 million sales for the last eight consecutive years,” said Yamazaki. “Our priority remains the safety and well-being of our customers, employees, dealers, suppliers and their families, as well as the community at large here in China, while recovering our production and sales to address the diverse needs of Chinese customers.

“We remain committed to the market and will be accelerating electrification in China with nine Nissan EVs and e-POWER products to achieve a 40% electrification rate by 2025,” he said.

* Since October, DFAC results are excluded due to scope change.

* INFINITI sales include both CBU and local production.
